#AmplifyinAction is part of Europe Day 22, a day full of online and offline activities across Europe. Jointly curated by Culture Action Europe (Brussels), Centre for fine arts – BOZAR (Brussels), the European Cultural Foundation (Amsterdam) and De Balie (Amsterdam), the day offers a wide range of debates, conversations, presentations, cultural and artistic program and actions to celebrate and shape the future of Europe together, the future that responds to current challenges, aspirations and dreams of Europeans.

Amplify is a project working across 12 European countries that brings underrepresented voices in the cultural sector to the Conference on the Future of Europe. During the project, project members worked together to write a set of recommendations to EU decision-makers, focusing on ideas, hopes, and demands for the vision of the Future of Europe. On 9 May, Amplify will respond to and publicly advocate for these ideas.
Europe Day is a day celebrating “peace and unity in Europe”, in commemoration of the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950
In a festival atmosphere, Europe Day tells the many stories of Europe and imagines a better Europe. It connects the local and the European, presents cultural solutions to European challenges, making our continent more inclusive, more democratic, more culturally aware and a better place to live.
This year, peace and unity in Europe are at stake. Putin’s war on Ukraine has brutally reminded us how relevant the founding narrative of the European Union and of Europe Day is. The future of Europe is made right now in our response to the war on Ukraine. Therefore, Europe Day ‘22 is labelled The Future is now!.
Europe Day ‘22 is a hybrid event, with live programmes taking place in De Balie and elsewhere, and in ongoing live-stream via europeday.eu.
