the students of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute won 10 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals, as well as the best school prize, at the VIBE international ballet competition
The news of Éva Julianna Pollák’s success came just a few days after the students of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute won 10 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals, as well as the best school prize, at the VIBE international ballet competition in Vienna. In the light of these and similar results of the past years, it is particularly regrettable that during the evaluation of the application for the position of general director of the Hungarian State Opera, several candidates who put their professionalism on the banner declared as an indisputable fact the termination of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute, which does not use state resources, but only tuition fees, donations and tender grants , that he does not have any practical experience of the high-quality professional work of the almost 20 ballet masters working there, as well as the self-sacrificing activities of 140 students and their families.
The next time the public can meet the members of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute, including its award-winning students, is at the May 6, 2023 presentation of the ensemble’s production called KisCsipke at the Eiffel Workshop. The performance – similar to the Little Swan Lake production that ran in front of full houses – tells the story of Tchaikovsky’s fairytale ballet accompanied by narration and dance pieces by children for children.
