Royal Ballet School holds auditions across the UK and internationally. Applications for full-time and Mid/Senior/Advanced Associate programmes open in September and close in October. Auditions take place from November to January. All auditions are for courses which start the following September.
Applications for the Junior Associate programme opens in February each year and close in March. Auditions are held in the Summer Term and are for courses which start in September. All applications received by the closing dates will be offered an audition class.

Applicants in the UK will be invited to a preliminary audition which will take place between November and January. We are hosting in-person preliminary auditions in several regions across the UK and internationally. International applicants can also choose to submit a video for their preliminary audition.

On Sunday 10 October Royal Ballet School will be offering both in-person classes in London and online classes that will provide insight into what participating in a Royal Ballet School audition is like and what the School looks for at those auditions.
This is a non-selective programme determined by the age of the dancer on 31 August 2022 (not their current age). Please ensure you book for the correct age group as the Royal Ballet School cannot swap a student into a different group.
Royal Ballet School will limit the number of people in attendance. This means that parents and teachers will not be able to attend the in-person audition insight classes with the participating student.
The cost of our online Audition Insight Day is £18.50 and our in-person Audition Insight Day is £40.
Royal Ballet School funding for dancer training. 90% of students are supported financially!
The Royal Ballet School selects students based on their potential and not their ability to pay. No potential student should be deterred from applying to The Royal Ballet School due to lack of financial means.
You will only ever pay what you can afford – about 90% of students are supported financially in some form, with over 22% paying no fees at all.
